What are we looking forward to? I know many international students were looking forward to a new semester at ASU… a different new semester than what begins this week. ISC was looking forward to a new school year and semester… we love to plan and provide a big, warm welcome for students that come from all over the world. We love to meet new people and learn about them, their country, culture, family and more.
That has been one of the hard things about 2020. The hardest part, I believe for most of us, is the uncertainty of when we can look forward again. We don’t know what the rest of this semester will look like, next semester, or even next week :(. We don’t know when it will be safe to leave our homes and meet with friends again. This is hard because we want to look ahead (and plan) for the future. Hebrews is one of the books in the Bible that helps us keep faith during times of uncertainty. Chapter 11 has been called the “faith chapter” and begins with a definition: “faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” The chapter offers great encouragement because it lists lots of ordinary people who did extraordinary things… because they had faith. ISC is available if you need to connect with someone about faith, hope or love. These three things make a world of difference.
