“Some people take life way too seriously. You know the ones, they always seem to be too busy to do have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s important to be strategic in life. Your actions, words, thoughts and motives all need to be aligned to a higher cause or you’ll find yourself pursuing lesser things.

Then there are those people who don’t take life seriously at all. They seem to thrive in their role as the Class Clown, “Life of the Party” or the Jokester. Thought they might be interesting, entertaining, or even fun, they are not the ones you want on your Project Team or Partner on the job.

I believe there needs to be a balance. Some say the wisest man ever was King Solomon, and he wrote a book called Ecclesiastes to help others learn knowledge from his life experiences. Chapter three is entitled “A Time for Everything” and it really is a “must read” treatise on living life to the fullest. Basically it reminds us that there are seasons in life. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance…”

King Solomon was a seeker on a quest for the meaning and purpose of life. He began to search for the meaning and purpose of life “under the sun,” apart from God… and he determined that everything is meaningless. We too are on a quest for the meaning and purpose of life. Solomon discovered that when all the trivial layers of life are removed, all we have left is to “fear God” and “enjoy life.” International Students Club is all about helping others fulfil their quest… and enjoy some fun and games along the way :).
